The Rocky River Watershed Council's purpose is to protect, restore and perpetuate a healthy watershed through public education, watershed planning, communication and cooperation among stakeholders. We are the only organization dedicated solely to the protection and restoration of the Rocky River Watershed.

We are a citizen-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving the aquatic quality of the Rocky River and its tributaries.

Membership

By becoming a member you are not only supporting the work we do at the Rocky River Watershed Council but you also get voting rights for Board Members. Also, Your membership dues are tax deductible.

Donate

Making a tax deductible donation supports the work we do to improve the health of the Rocky River Watershed. We have individual and corporate donation options.

2024 Annual Meeting

The Rocky River Watershed Council is happy to invite you to our 2024 Annual Meeting, at which the speaker theme will be Urban Forestry. Join us to learn more about the importance of tree canopy on watershed health, how we can plan for changing climate predictions, and what efforts are being made in your area to enhance biodiversity.

The Annual Meeting will be held in the Auditorium of the Rocky River Nature Center (24000 Valley Pkwy, North Olmsted, OH 44070) from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Thursday January 25th, 2024.

Designed by our own members, and featuring wildlife from our own Rocky River, these poly-cotton blend T-shirts are ultra-soft and environmentally friendly. Made from yarn that is spun, knit, dyed and finished in the USA, including:

- 50% polyester from recycled plastic bottles

 - 25% organic, Us-grown combed cotton

 - 25% Tencel™ Modal celluose

When you buy one of these T-shirts you not only support great watershed restoration work in the Rocky River, you also get a high-quality garment whose impact includes:

- Reduces 4kg of CO2 emissions

 - Recycles an average 6 water bottles

 - Save an average of 145 gallons of water compared to traditional cotton fabric production.

Become a Rocky River

Watershed Champion Today!

Join us in our ongoing campaign to spread the news about things you can do to help restore the Rocky River! We are asking you to Take Action: In Your Yard, By Your Backyard Streams, and In Your Community to benefit the Rocky River and its tributaries.

 

Pledge to take watershed friendly actions in your yard and actions in your community to become a Rocky River Watershed Champion and earn your very own Rocky River Watershed Champion sign for your yard! The signs measure 8" x 8" and come with a metal stake for placement in your yard.

 

The pledge form can be filled out by requesting a paper form by emailing mhennessey@cuyahogaswcd.org.  Participants who send a picture of their Champions sign installed in their yard will be entered to win their choice of a rain barrel or a native seed packet!
